These illustrations were created for the article “Everything you don't know that your nurse does for your health and for the sustainability of the healthcare system,” written by Ainitze Labaka Etxeberria, a nursing graduate and doctor from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and published in the magazine Muy Interesante. The aim of these designs was to convey the scientific advances promoted by nurses Florence Nightingale and Margaret Sanger, whose research and fight for women's rights, unknown to most, were of such value that they are still relevant today. The black-and-white illustrations, combined with modern graphics and bright colors, represent the fusion of the past and the present, and the need to keep the past present in order to continue improving as a society.
